Music Training
The music workshop organized by Shoruq aimed to empower Palestinian refugee children, aged 8-12, by providing them opportunities to explore their musical talents, learn instruments like the Oud and violin, and develop skills in composition and performance. The workshop spanned 144 hours, with participants divided into two groups for weekly sessions of 3 hours each. Funding for the workshop was supported by MECA, covering 72 hours, while Shoruq Organization funded the remaining hours, ensuring comprehensive access to the program. Over the course of the workshop, participants demonstrated significant achievements: Musical Proficiency : The workshop successfully met its objectives by introducing participants to various musical genres and fundamental music theory concepts. They learned to create rhythms inspired by everyday sounds and movements, and gained practical knowledge of recording music, as well as writing and reading musical notation. This comprehensive approach not only enhanced participants' understanding of music but also resulted in significant musical proficiency. Many participants demonstrated remarkable progress in playing their chosen instruments, showcasing improved technique and musical expression. Creative Expression : The workshop encouraged participants to explore their creativity through composition exercises, enhancing their ability to express their emotions and ideas through music. Social Engagement and collaboration : Through teamwork and group activities, participants developed interpersonal skills and friendships, fostering a supportive community within the workshop. Cultural Identity : Participants gained a deeper appreciation for their cultural heritage through exposure to Palestinian musical traditions, contributing to a sense of cultural pride and identity. Celebrating success: To celebrate the achievements of the workshop participants, a musical performance was held in September 2023 at the President Putin Palestinian Organization for Culture and Economy's hall. The event attracted approximately 200 attendees, including families of the participants and supporters of Shoruq Organization. The performance showcased the musical talents acquired during the workshop, highlighting the impact of arts education on fostering social cohesion and community spirit.

Palestinian Children's Day
Palestinian Children's Day
April 5th, we marked Palestinian Children's Day, a day that comes in exceptional circumstances for our people in general and for our children in Palestine, particularly in Gaza. Approximately 14,000 children have been martyred, and hundreds of thousands of children are without food, medicine, and water... without education and healthcare, living through the worst wars of modern times. Our children have the right to live in peace like other children around the world and to receive their rights as stipulated by all international agreements."
