Advocacy Program

The establishment of the Advocacy Program, a cultural and contemporary art initiative at Shoruq Organization, represents a highly significant and necessary platform for Palestinian society, particularly for refugee youth and children and embodies advocacy for justice, grounded in the inalienable rights of our people foremost among them the right to live on our land with dignity, freedom and without restrictions It was created to provide an inclusive, safe and supportive outlet where young people can express themselves freely, explore their creativity, and develop their artistic passions. By fostering these opportunities, the program encourages the emergence of a creative generation of Palestinian youth who can address challenges and navigate their experiences in innovative and non-traditional ways. At the heart of the program lies the preservation of Palestinian cultural heritage, a critical aspect of the ongoing struggle against an occupation that seeks to erase Palestinian identity and appropriate its history. Through art, media, and cultural expression, the program enables participants to advocate for their rights, amplify Palestinian voices, and share their stories, realities, and aspirations with the wider community. For Palestinian refugees in particular, this program provides a space to assert their identity, build resilience, and communicate their experiences and hopes in ways that are both creative and empowering. By combining artistic expression with advocacy, the program strengthens both individual growth and collective cultural awareness, ensuring that the voices of Palestinian children and youth are heard, celebrated, and preserved.
