Shoruq Organization Launches Child Protection Awareness Campaign with First Session on Digital Safety
As part of its "For Children's Protection and Capacity Development" programme, Shoruq Organization has launched a new awareness campaign aimed at strengthening child protection and promoting a safe, supportive environment that empowers children to participate actively in their communities. The campaign is supported by the Sawasya Programme Palestine through the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
The campaign began with its first awareness session at Al-Awda School, organised in cooperation with the Community Police. The session focused on Digital Safety, addressing the growing importance of protecting children in the online environment as digital technologies become an increasingly significant part of their daily lives.
During the session, students learned about the potential risks associated with internet use and social media, as well as practical strategies for protecting their personal information, recognising unsafe online behaviour, and responding appropriately to digital threats. The discussion also highlighted the importance of responsible online engagement and creating positive digital habits.
The session featured interactive discussions and awareness activities that encouraged students to share their experiences and develop a stronger understanding of safe internet practices, helping them become more confident and responsible digital users.
This campaign forms part of Shoruq Organization's ongoing efforts to promote children's rights, strengthen child protection, and equip children with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the digital world safely. Through collaboration with partner institutions, the organisation continues to implement initiatives that foster children's well-being, participation, and resilience.
