As part of its ongoing campaign to raise the minimum age of criminal responsibility (MACR) in Palestine in alignment with the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and General Comment No. 24 (2019) issued by the Committee on the Rights of the Child, the Shoruq Organization team recently conducted a series of strategic visits to key community partners.

The delegation visited the Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation (BASR) – Community-Based Rehabilitation Program, the Psychosocial Counseling Center for Women and Training Center for the Child and Family (GTC) in Bethlehem. These visits aimed to explore avenues for joint cooperation and coordination within the framework of the campaign, which Shoruq Organization launched in partnership with the Asfari Foundation.

During the meetings, discussions focused on amplifying collective efforts to raise public awareness around juvenile justice issues, safeguarding children, and strengthening community knowledge regarding relevant rights and legal standards.

All participating organizations reaffirmed the vital importance of continuous communication and strategic collaboration. Together, these partnerships aim to drive the campaign’s objectives forward, empower local civil society institutions, and foster a safer, more protective environment for children across Palestine.
